I met Beach Riot's designer last year while shooting her for a story on the Free People blog, BLDG 25. Designer Nicole Hanriot, who personally told me her dad jokes about her butchering their last name (pronounced han-ree-ot not riot like her swim line), is the sweetest thing ever. She's really just one of those girls who are sweet the instant you meet them and talented as heck. Her swim line's slogan: "Riot on the Beach, Party in the Streets", resonates seamlessly with the collection, with pieces looking equally great on and off the beach. I've instantly become a fan of her work with her colorful prints, daring elements, and flattering cut outs. Who doesn't want to Party in the Streets with the gorgeous stone encrusted, cross one piece?! To add to her growing success, Nicole has launched a line of sunglasses (seen above worn on models) named Sunny G's to launch sometime soon! Congratulations Nicole, well deserved!
Lolli Swim designer, Vy Nguyen, is another doll! It's no wonder her and Nicole are such good friends. Vy's line is just as amazing and fun! I really love the way she's incorporated bows as a signature style element to her design while mixing a flirty, cuteness factor that is no where near looking too young. (Have you seen how cute a bow looks on your bum?) This line is perfect for the girly girl who wants to add some edge to her swimwear. I am obsessed with the cross body, white one piece and the black and white, striped two piece... and that bow in the back, sigh. Beautiful as always, Vy!
